Design Constraints

-Only use the Univers font
-10x10 canvas size
-Black and white
-Given content only
-No images allowed

The Univers font was the only visual element provided for me to work off of. The font itself looks standard and contained which I wanted to reflect in the poster design by working off of a strict grid layout. I focused on creating clear hierarchy and visual interest by using different font weights and creating balance between the left and right side of the composition.

Semifinalist draft

3b_composition-1.png

This draft was me playing around compositionally to test out all the ways I could create concise graphic elements out of chunks of information like the date. I didn't end up choosing this version because it was combining too many different ideas of mine to the point of clashing compositionally. It was lacking a clear art direction.
